Give your florist plenty of inspiration so that he/she can imagine what your day is going to be like - Such as magazine photos, colour swatches and gown design styles.

"Trust" your florist - chances are they know more about flowers than you. If they think something won't work, it's best to listen!

Consider the scent of your flowers. It is best to avoid anything overpowering, such as oriental lilies; especially in a small room.

Having different colour schemes at your ceremony and reception can work really well. Try something soft and demure for your ceremony flowers and turn it up a notch with brighter blooms to signify "the celebrations have begun!"

If you love a particular flower, but it's on the pricey side you can still use it sparingly in your bouquet. It will be close to you all day and therefore appear in most of your photos.
